Background: Valentine had been a “mama’s boy” from the time he was young. His mother was possessive and spoiled her beautiful boy. She would give him anything his heart desired. Val was content to stay with her for the rest of eternity; until, that it, his mother sent him to “take care of” a mortal who was “far too beautiful for her own good.” He went to do the deed obediently, but as he found the woman and saw she was as beautiful as even his mother, he couldn’t bring himself to kill her. He instead told her he would save her from death and took her to a mountain hideout.
He expected her to quickly fall for him, but it happened that she seemed oddly uninterested. He visited her often, and after a time he came back to find that she had a man there. The man had been with her for a time before cupid took her, and she’d been having him over when Valentine wasn’t around.
In a fit of rage, Valentine took the man away to a city and used his “love magic” to make him fall for a (literal) cow, making certain that the woman would see her lover with such a creature over her. He let her suffer before maiming her to the point where she couldn’t speak and was rather hideous (in his mind reflecting what was inside her) so that she could never be happy.
Since then he’s become bitter, hating happy couples. Val takes joy in ruining relationships either by “taking” one of the partners so the other becomes enraged by their cheating, or simply destroying one of them. He loves to cause mischief and trouble with people.
Despite that, he does usually take pity on loli-types.

Tukiko (Gretel) - She is an extremely important person in his life. He almost immediately fell in love for the little girl when he saw her and everything she does makes him fall that much more in love with her. He understands she wants a family and tries to be there for her the best that he can in any way he can. He would kill for his little Tuki.

Koda (Hansel)- Valentine tried to act friendly towards him, despite Koda's obvious dislike of Val because he didn't want to upset Tukiko. It wasn't long of him teasing the boy that he began to think he was different and after a talk with the boy, realized they weren't really so different after all . He feels bad that Koda is so confused about love and is doing his best to help him and his sister. He refuses to tell Koda what he should do, because he doesn't believe in forced love and understands the boy's fear of betrayed trust. What began as trying to make Tukiko happy has spread where he doesn't want to see either of the siblings upset.

Half-Sister:
Alice - They have an odd relationship consisting of incest and plenty of bickering, but he would never lay a finger on her (even if she wasn't the Queen.) She was there after his mother passed and she was the only person he had at all until Tukiko joined his life.
